International Mission Opportunities
Available Through UM

The University of Mobile is offering the general public an opportunity to participate in its 2007 University Missions programs. This year teams of students, faculty and area residents will travel to 9 different countries spreading the Gospel.

Each trip offers unique opportunities for life-changing service. Activities will include prayer walking; Bible, literature and “Jesus” film distribution; evangelistic surveying; concert performances; Bible storying; evangelism outreach; church planting; youth and children’s ministry; chapel construction; and teaching sports clinics. Some teams will also teach Vacation Bible Schools, work with local churches and more.

The trips available in 2007:

Ireland - March 2-11. Team of 12 led by Dr. Doug Wilson, assistant professor of Christian Studies. Opportunities include prayer walking in towns in County Galway and working with university students.

Barbados - March 3-10. Team of 25 led by Dr. Cecil Taylor, dean of the School of Christian Studies. Participants will do evangelism projects similar to those done at the Olympics for the World Cup of Cricket.

Greece - May 14-24. Team of 12 led by Dr. Jay Robertson, assistant professor of Christian Studies. Opportunities include prayer walking, evangelistic surveying, Bible and “Jesus” film distribution and evening concerts in Thessaloniki.

Australia - May 14-27. Team of 12 led by Dr. Cecil Taylor, dean of the School of Christian Studies. Opportunities include evangelism and leading discipleship ministries at South Perth Baptist Church, and to students at Curtin University and in local high schools.

Bangladesh - May 18-28. Team of 12 led by Dr. John Nixon, assistant professor of Christian Studies. Opportunities include evangelism, prayer walking and literature distribution.

Niger - May 22- June 4. Team of 8-12 led by Dr. Doug Wilson, assistant professor of Christian Studies. Opportunities include prayer walking, personal and group evangelism, Bible storying and follow-up discussion to the “Jesus” film.

Brazil - June 20-30. Team of 12 led by Dr. Cecil Taylor, dean of the School of Christian Studies. Opportunities include concerts performed by a special Center for Performing Arts group, chapel construction, Backyard Bible Club, public school visits, door-to-door evangelism and church planting in Taquarituba, Sao Paulo.

Norway - July 19-30. Team of 12 led by Dr.Younce, associate professor of Christian Studies. Opportunities include assisting North Sea International Baptist church with Vacation Bible School and youth sports clinics in Stavanger.

Wales - July 20-30. Team of 12 led by Dr. Cecil Taylor, dean of the School of Christian Studies. Team members will conduct a Vacation Bible School and participate in youth ministry in Pontycymer and the Garw Valley, Wales.

All mission trips cost $2,600 with the exception of the Barbados trip, which costs $1,500. For more information on participating in these mission trips, contact UM’s School of Christian Studies at 251-442-2406.
