UM on the Big Screen

The hit movie “Facing the Giants” has a University of Mobile connection! UM student Michael McLendon, a sophomore theatre major, is No. 55 on the football team and a production assistant. UM freshman political science major James Byrd also plays a football player in the movie about trusting God to do the impossible.

UM senior Hayley Catt, communication major, worked in wardrobe. Her sister and UM alumna Erin Catt, ’06, played a reporter. Their father and UM Board of Regents member the Rev. Michael Catt, senior pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., is a producer of the movie. The father of UM alumna Victoria McBride, ’04, Jim McBride has a starring role.
