October 26, 2006 UM Invites High School Seniors to Choosing a college is a tough decision, but visiting the campus of a prospective college is a great way to find out if it’s the right choice. That’s why the University of Mobile is hosting a “Winter Preview Weekend” for high school seniors Dec. 1-2. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, Nov. 29. Students must register to attend this event. Check-in is from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1. During the weekend, prospective students will have the opportunity to stay on campus with current students, tour the campus and meet with students and faculty members, enjoy a cookout, and a concert by UM’s praise-and-worship band EXIT 13, and learn details about UM academics, admissions, financial aid, and student life. Current high school seniors who register and attend Winter Preview Weekend, apply for admission, and enroll for the Fall 2007 semester can also earn a $2,000 UM scholarship. This special UM Visit Scholarship will be awarded at $250 per semester for eight consecutive semesters, and only one will be available per person. To register or to find out more about applying to the University of Mobile, call the UM admissions office at 251-442-2273 or toll free at 1-800-946-7267, or visit www.umobile.edu/visit, and click on “Preview Days.” The University of Mobile is a private university affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention.
