University of Mobile Students
Members of the University of Mobile Center for Performing Arts’ Exit 13 were selected for the 2007-2008 school year at the private, Baptist-affiliated university. Exit 13, directed by Mark Moses, is a traveling modern worship band featuring acoustic and electric guitar, bass, keyboard, drums and vocals. The band represents the University of Mobile as its members lead worship at youth events, churches, camps and civic events. Exit 13 also provided the music for the 2006 Miss UM pageant, opened at UM for singer songwriter Jason Morant, and has performed as a band with the CPA horn section. Members of Exit 13 are T.J. Brown of Dothan, Ala., electric guitar; Dave Denton of Spanish Fort, Ala., acoustic guitar and worship leader; Ben Dorman of Tullahoma, Tenn., bass guitar; Josh Pepper of Silverhill, Ala., drummer; Kyle Rahtjen of Glen Ellyn, Ill., keyboard; and Andrew Wilbanks of Loretto, Tenn., sound technician. Nearly 1,600 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled at the University of Mobile, a private Christian university affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention.
