UM Alumnus Receives Door Opener Award

University of Mobile President Dr. Mark Foley recently awarded President’s Advisory Council member and alumnus Mike Puckett ’76 the UM Door Opener Award.

Puckett was honored because of his effort to alert Mike Blaylock, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, of a funding opportunity in the Mobile area. The result was a $200,000 scholarship for students pursuing a career in full-time church ministry.

Puckett and his wife, Jane ’78, have passed the Ram legacy to daughter Jill, who graduated in 2002. The Pucketts are President Club members and all three have served in student and alumni leadership roles at the university.
