University of Mobile
Invites Alumni to Homecoming

University of Mobile alumni are invited to UM’s 2007 Homecoming on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27. Events will include a 40th reunion dinner with UM’s first graduating class, reunions for classes ending in 2s and 7s, a fall carnival and a RamRun 5k. There will also be a homecoming basketball scrimmage with the presentation of the homecoming court and a 5th year reunion ball game for the class of 2002.

Homecoming activities schedule is as follows:

Friday, Oct. 26

  • Dorm Warz, 1-3 p.m., an on-campus student event including obstacle courses and contests.
  • Back to Class, alumni and parents may attend a class and find out what college students are learning.
  • 40th Reunion Dinner for the Class of 1967, registration is at 6 p.m., dinner program is at 7 p.m in the Harrigan Center. Classes also invited are ’68, ’69, ’70. Cost is $20 per person. Reserve a seat by contacting Mrs. Iris Anderson ’67 at 251-479-3510 or irislanderson@bellsouth.net by Oct. 1.
  • RamFest, a student lip sync and comedy show, 8 p.m., North Lawn.

Saturday, Oct. 27

  • RamRun 5k, registration is at 7 a.m., run begins at 7:30 a.m., in front of Weaver Hall. Open to walkers and runners of all ages. For registration information, contact Director of Spiritual Development Neal Ledbetter at 251-442-2429.
  • 5th Year Reunion for the Class of 2002, 10 a.m. at the UM Softball Field. Reunion goers will play a game of softball. Classes also invited are ’01 and ’03. Cost is $10 per person. Register early by searching U of Mobile, Class of 2002 on Facebook.com, a social networking website.
  • Meet ’n’ Greet: Alumni, Professors, Parents, 10 a.m. in Weaver Hall Lobby.
  • Women’s Basketball Reunion, 10:30 a.m. in Pharr Gymnasium. Everyone is invited to attend. Cost is free. Contact Coach Martha Gore-Algernon at 251-442-2260 for game day details.
  • All Campus Lunch, 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. outside the cafeteria. Cost is $5 for everyone except students with a meal plan. Cost includes seafood meal and drink.
  • Homecoming Who’s Who, 12 p.m. outside the cafeteria.
  • Homecoming Basketball Scrimmage and Court Presentation, 2 p.m. in Pharr Gymnasium. Homecoming court of juniors and seniors will be presented at halftime, where the homecoming king and queen will also be announced.
  • Fall Carnival, 2 p.m.- 6 p.m. on the front lawns of Weaver Hall. Free fun activities for the whole family.
  • Dinner, 5- 7 p.m. in Ingram cafeteria. Cost is $6 for everyone except students with a meal plan.
  • Concert: Dave Matthews Tribute Band, 7:30- 9:30 p.m. Free for everyone. Bring a chair or blanket.
