University of Mobile Announces Upcoming Retirement and Promotions
The University of Mobile would like to announce changes in the Academic Affairs area, including an upcoming retirement and several promotions.
- Dr. Kaye Brown, associate vice president of academic affairs and dean of graduate programs, will retire at the end of fall semester, 2007. Brown has served at UM for 15 years. Prior to that, she was a science teacher at Theodore High School, an assistant principal at Satsuma High School, and served as principal at Baker High School for 13 years.
- Upon Brown’s retirement, Dr. Anne Lowery, currently dean of the School of Business, will serve as associate vice president for academic affairs and dean of graduate programs.
- Dr. Don Berry, currently registrar, will retain his position as registrar and will also serve as associate vice president for academic services.
- Dr. Jane Finley, currently associate professor of marketing and finance, will also serve as interim dean of the School of Business.
- Mrs. J.B Locke, assistant to the dean of the School of Business and internship coordinator, will also serve as director of administrative services for the School of Business.
- Dr. Dwight Steedley, chair of the Department of Mathematics and Science and professor of mathematics, has been named dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Dr. Mashburn, professor of philosophy and Department of Humanities chair, has been named associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
