Centrifuge returning to the University of Mobile Campus Both Centrifuge and M-Fuge
Centrifuge is returning to the University of Mobile after a more than 14 year absence. This summer churches will have a choice of whether their students attend Centrifuge or M-Fuge each week of camp as the university becomes only the fourth location to offer both programs on the same campus, something LifeWay calls combo camps. “We are often asked what is the difference between Centrifuge and M-Fuge,” stated Mark Robbins, student event coordinator for LifeWay, a ministry of the Southern Baptist Convention. “Centrifuge is our longest running camp that focuses on involving students in recreation to teach Biblical truths and team building. M-Fuge is our ministry based camp where students are placed on different ministry teams that leave campus to go serve strategic ministry locations in and around the city of Mobile giving students hands on ministry involvement,” Robbins said. Centrifuge actually began on the campus of the University of Mobile back in the summer of 1980, making it the longest-running Fuge ministry on a college campus. In 1996 the University of Mobile switched from offering Centrifuge to offering M-Fuge. The University of Mobile is the only campus in Alabama where students can attend Centrifuge without leaving the state. Now is the time for youth groups, small groups, and individuals to reserve their spots at these popular camps. Both camps are open to students entering seventh grade through college. “Camp leaves a mark on a student’s life. When campers leave after a week of M-Fuge or Centrifuge, they leave changed. Campers are challenged and stretched and they cannot wait to go home and share their experiences, taking what they learned and applying it in their everyday lives,” said Robbins. At M-Fuge, students will spend a majority of their week out in the community lending a helping hand and learning unity with their peers. Centrifuge campers spend most of their time on campus, participating in activities that strengthen mind, body, and spirit. For more information about M-Fuge and Centrifuge or to register, visit www.lifeway.com/fuge or call 1-877-CAMP-123. Information about M-Fuge and Centrifuge is also available on the University of Mobile website at www.umobile.edu. Camp sessions run from June 7, 2010 through July 31, 2010, for Centrifuge and M-Fuge at the University of Mobile. Cost is $296 per person for Centrifuge and $301 per person for M-Fuge. Both camps feature speaker Duke Dismukes and worship leader SoloFlight. The University of Mobile is located on a beautiful 880-acre campus just an hour away from gulf coast beaches. The Baptist-affiliated University’s new auditorium, Ram Hall, will be the center of many camp activities and features state-of-the-art audio and video equipment, seating for up to 600, and a stage. An expanded cafeteria and comfortable residence halls, along with an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts are available to campers. Last modified :
