| What is StarLight at the University of Mobile?
StarLight at the University of Mobile is a free outdoor music
festival with a family atmosphere. Designed as a way to showcase
the Center for Performing Arts at the University of Mobile, the
event will spotlight over 100 students in a dozen music and theatre
groups while featuring a performance by 8-time Dove Award winners
4HIM. The variety of musical
styles
will
feature
something for everyone,
including Broadway show tunes, pop, gospel, jazz, opera and patriotic
songs. The evening will end with a "bang" as fireworks
light the sky.
When and where is it held?
The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, on
the campus of the University of Mobile at an outdoor stage
in front of Martin Hall. We recommend that you arrive early.
What type of music will be featured at StarLight?
StarLight will have something for everyone! In addition to the
performance by 4HIM, the outstanding
talent
from the University of Mobile Center for Performing
Arts will present a wide variety of music, including performances
by the University Singers, Voices of Mobile, University Band,
Jazz Band, Guitar Ensemble, Piano Ensemble, Opera Workshop
and Upper Room Dinner Theatre.
Will I need a ticket to attend?
No tickets will be required as this is a free outdoor event.
Donations will be accepted during the performance.
How do I get to the University of Mobile?
The University of Mobile is located 10 minutes north of downtown
Mobile. Take Exit 13 from Interstate 65, go west on Hwy. 158
about 1.5 miles to College Parkway. Turn left onto College
Parkway, then right at the stop sign. The main entrance is
located about one-half mile on the right. To view a map, click

Will food and chairs be available?
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Other than
a reserved section of priority seating, chairs will not be
provided. Feel free to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets.
Are alcoholic beverages allowed at StarLight?
The University of Mobile maintains a "dry" campus prohibiting
the use of alcoholic beverages. Please help us maintain the family
atmosphere of StarLight by adhering to this policy. Soft drinks
and food will be available for purchase during the StarLight
event.
May I bring my pet to the StarLight event?
For everyone's safety, pets are not allowed on the University
of Mobile campus.
What happens if it rains?
In case of rain, the concert will be held at Dauphin Way Baptist
Church at I-65 and Dauphin Street.
