Women's Soccer Releases 2011 Signing Class

MOBILE, Ala—The University of Mobile women’s soccer program has announced its 2011 signing class that will look to build on the 2010 squad’s run to the Round of 16 at the 2010 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship. The class is made up of 14 players thus far, with players coming from Alabama, Texas, Arizona, Mississippi, Georgia and California.

Rams Recognized For Fall Success

CLEVELAND – The University of Mobile is ranked 15th in the final fall NAIA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings. Mobile received 53 points for a ninth place finish in women's soccer and 83 points for a third place finish in men's soccer. Azusa Pacific (Calif.) extended its lead, earning 25 points following a ninth place finish in football, bringing their point total to 301 points.

Trio Of Lady Rams Earn Women's Soccer All-American Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- Three University of Mobile women's soccer players were named NAIA All-Americans, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Monday. Anna Maddox, a senior defender from Auburn, Ala., was tabbed as a 2nd-Team selection, Christy Lachappelle, a sophomore forward from San Antonio, Texas, was named 3rd-Team All-American, and Missy Stovall, a sophomore forward from San Antonio earned Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Women's Soccer Players Earn Academic Honors

MOBILE, Ala-- Anna Maddox and Ashley Lachappelle were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. There were 446 women's soccer student-athletes honored in all. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Two-Time Defending Champ Lee Ousts Mobile Women From Nationals

DECATUR, Ala. - Defending National Champion and second-seeded Lee (Tenn.) prevailed 2-1 over 15th-seeded Mobile (Ala.) Monday in second round action of the 27th Annual NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship at Jack Allen Complex. The Lady Flames, now 19-2-1, move into Wednesday's quarterfinals and will face the winner of the seventh-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and 10th-seeded Robert Morris (Ill.) match at 4:30 p.m. CST. With the loss, Mobile exits its fifth trip to the event and closes out its season, finishing with a 13-7-1 record.

2010 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Preview

DECATUR, Ala--- The University of Mobile is one of sixteen teams that will trek to the final site of the 27th Annual NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship at Jack Allen Complex in Decatur, Ala., Nov. 29 - Dec. 4. Second-round action will take place Nov. 29 - 30 with four games each day, followed by the quarterfinals on Dec. 1 and semifinals on Dec. 3. The 2010 Women's Soccer National Championship final will be decided on Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. CST. Mobile opens Monday at 4 pm versus Lee University.

#11 Lady Rams Advance To Final 16 Of Nationals

MOBILE, Ala-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team defeated 16th-ranked Embry-Riddle 3-2 in a 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round game Saturday at the University of Mobile. The Lady Rams (13-6-1) will advance to the final site of the 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship in Decatur, Ala. and face 2nd-ranked Lee University. Embry-Riddle ends the season with a 14-3-3 record.

2010 SSAC Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams Announced

MOBILE, Ala-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team had several players honored by the release of the 2010 SSAC All-Conference Team. Sophomore Christy Lachappelle was named the SSAC West Division Offensive Player of the Year, and was joined on the All-Conference Team by teammates Anna Maddox and Missy Stovall. Olivia Maddox was named to the SSAC West All-Division Team and Rebekah Counce was named to the SSAC All-Freshman Team.

UMobile To Host National Championship Opening Round Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team is headed to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament for the first time since 2000, and will host a 2010 Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round contest Saturday, Nov. 20. The Lady Rams, who qualified for the tournament by advancing to the SSAC Tournament Finals, will host Sun Conference member Embry-Riddle at a time to be determined. The winner of that contest will host the winner of Lee University and Tennessee Wesleyan at the final site in Decatur, Ala., Nov. 29.

No. 2 Lee Tops Mobile In SSAC Women's Finals

GULFPORT, Miss-- The 2nd-ranked Lee University Lady Flames defeated the 14th-ranked University of Mobile 2-1 in the 2010 SSAC Women's Soccer Championship game Saturday. Lee (17-2-1) and Mobile (12-6-1) both will advance to the 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship. Mobile will play in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round Saturday, Nov. 20 versus an opponent to be determined.
