The University of Mobile has been named as one of “America’s Best Christian Colleges” for the 17th consecutive year.
The University of Mobile is one of 95 colleges and universities nationwide to receive the 2013-2014 designation.
The results of the 23nd Annual National College Survey, conducted by Institutional Research & Evaluation, Inc., shows that 384 Christian institutions of higher education were selected for evaluation. The IR&E chooses the colleges and universities based on the highest quality education in a Christian environment according to Lewis T. Lindsey Jr., president of the IR&E.
To be considered for the designation “America’s Best Christian Colleges,” an institution must be an accredited, four-year college or university offering bachelor degrees and residential facilities including residence halls and dining services. It must have had an entering freshman class in the fall of 2012 with a high school grade point average or SAT/ACT score equal to or above the national average for all freshmen entering Christian institutions of higher education. It must be affiliated with a recognized Christian denomination or interdenominational institution that incorporates Christian principles and beliefs into its curriculum or environment.
Institutional Research & Evaluation Inc. is an independent research and consulting organization specializing in the recruiting and retention of students for institutions of higher education. The annual survey was conducted between April 1 and July 31, 2013.
